ENVIRA has won the contract for the supplying of energy monitoring systems at homes in Extremadura promoted by the Regional Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs of the Junta de Extremadura. Within the framework of this project, 275 equipment will be installed for monitoring the energy consumption and environmental conditions of different homes located in this region.
The energy monitoring system is composed of three autonomous units with electrical consumption monitors, outdoor weather conditions monitors and interior comfort monitors, interconnected wirelessly (via Wifi, RFI and / or LoRa), both between them and with the platform where they will dump data.
Application to consult data
Users will have at their disposal an application where they can consult through their mobile phones or tablets, historical data and intuitive graphics that allow the correlation between the data and the interpretation of these. In addition, with the information on the variables of comfort and energy consumption, users will be advised through the app of possible changes in usage habits and consumption at home with the aim of promoting energy savings. It is also possible to configure the launch of warnings and associated alarms to detect excessive energy consumption, exceeding limits of certain parameters, such as CO2, or anomalous readings in the sensors of the devices.
Improved efficiency and low-carbon economy
The installation of these monitoring systems will allow the administration to acquire energy data in real-time focused on the advice of the owners for an effective saving in the home’s energy consumption and provide statistical data to the platform for the acquisition of energy data on different housing typologies, which will be used to validate construction systems and improve the energy efficiency of buildings and infrastructure, thus contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
This action is part of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the period 2014-2020 of Extremadura and addresses to thematic objective (TO) 4, in relation to the transition to a low-carbon economy.
