METEOROLOGICAL SENSORS

Meteo Met One Instruments

Met One Instruments is a leader company in research, development and manufacturing of meteorological instruments, particle monitoring and environmental software.

The Met One weather station, consisting of high-precision meteorological sensors, is characterised by its reliability and meets the needs of meteorological monitoring even in the most adverse weather conditions.

Meteorological variables play a crucial role in air quality monitoring. These variables provide information on atmospheric conditions that can affect the dispersion, formation and transport of air pollutants.

METEOROLOGICAL SENSORS MET ONE INSTRUMENTS FOR MONITORING ATMOSPHERIC VARIABLES

Some of the most important meteorological variables in the measurement of air quality are:

  • Wind direction and wind speed: by using an anemometer these parameters are determined which help determine the direction in which pollutants move, which can be crucial in identifying emission sources and assessing their impact on nearby or distant areas.
  • Atmospheric temperature: influences the formation and chemical reactions of pollutants, including the reaction rate of ozone and influencing thermal inversion, so it is important to measure it with a temperature sensor.
  • Humidity: with a relative humidity sensor it is possible to measure and predict possible chemical reactions, such as the formation of nitric acid and sulphuric acid, as well as the deposition and dispersion of suspended particles.
  • Solar radiation: sunlight can initiate photochemical reactions that generate secondary pollutants such as ozone and the intensity of solar radiation can influence the volatilisation of VOCs.
  • Barometric pressure: high pressures cause air masses to drop and if this episode coincides with high levels of emissions, the dispersion of pollutants towards higher layers of the atmosphere is prevented, which is why it is important to measure it in order to predict pollution episodes.

MSO WEATHER STATION

Compact, fully integrated 5-parameter weather station.

Wind speed and direction are measured by mechanical anemometric sensors. All other measurements are housed in a solar radiation shield. The station output can include data from a rain gauge.

AIO 2 SONIC SENSOR

High performance with 2D sonic technology.

Complete system offers high accuracy with no moving parts and includes a compass for automatic magnetic north alignment. Temperature and humidity elements integrated into an IP65 module with quick connector for field calibration. Allows connection of rain gauge and solar radiation sensor.

BX-597 SENSOR

Built-in temperature, relative humidity and pressure.

It provides continuous measurement in harsh environments. All components are housed in a multi-plate, naturally ventilated radiation shield to reduce heating errors from solar radiation. The BX-597 has analogue and digital outputs for maximum flexibility.

SPEED/DIRECTION 034E SENSOR

Compact wind speed and direction sensor.

The 034E sensor combines wind speed and direction measurements in a single unit. Accurate and continuous monitoring in harsh environments. The system uses a fast connection with a cable that can be extended hundreds of metres without affecting the measurement. Available with optional 0-1 or 0-5 VDC output.

SPEED 010C DIRECTION 020C SENSOR

Anemometer 010C / Wind direction sensor 020C

These sensors are accurate, durable and cost effective instruments suitable for a wide range of wind measurement applications. Designed for unattended operation. Low start-up threshold. Constructed from corrosion resistant aluminium and stainless steel. Designed to meet EPA and NRC performance specifications.

083F/085A SENSOR

Combined relative humidity and temperature sensor.

Reliable over the full range of relative humidity conditions from 0 to 100% and performs equally well in weather, industrial, laboratory and other demanding environments. Delivers 90% of final relative humidity in less than 5 seconds.

360 SERIES RAIN GAUGES

Reliable and high quality instruments for measuring rain and/or snow.

With tilting cuvette for accurate and repeatable measurements with low maintenance. Sample is discharged through the base of the instrument. Optional heaters for melting snow and ice.

BAROMETER - SENSOR 092

Barometric pressure sensor.

The sensor measures absolute atmospheric pressure and converts it to a proportional voltage using digital technology. It has a rugged, low maintenance design. Resistant to adverse weather conditions. Suitable for measurements from sea level to 3,000 metres.

094 PYRANOMETER SENSOR

Solar radiation sensor.

This UV sensor is the perfect solution for solar surveying applications, utility reference systems and general meteorology. It is fully compliant with ISO 9060 and WHO requirements.

6400 VISIBILITY SENSOR

Visibility condition monitoring.

Measures visibility conditions over a range of 6m to 80km. The RS-232 digital output can be used to display current visibility, provide diagnostic information and access configuration and calibration options. This sensor is designed to provide accuracy and reliability at a reasonable price. Suitable for lighthouses, roads, tourist areas, offshore platforms. Compact and lightweight design. Corrosion resistant. Meteorological Optical Range (MOR).
