At ENVIRA we are committed to young talent and diversity, that’s why we enjoy taking part in conferences where students can learn more about our activity and the wide profile of tech professionals that require our staff.
On this occasion, Ángel Retamar, head of IoT, has attended the IT Conference of IES No. 1 (Gijón -Asturias) to discuss the importance of Information Technology departments in other sectors than IT. There, the students were informed about the history of ENVIRA: from the beginning of its activity in the field of automatic control systems of parameters in 1987, until its evolution towards IoT thanks to the developed technology and the technical know-how applied for more 30 years.
Information technology students attended to the explanations of how ENVIRA develops technology for the environment since it is a company that deals with the entire production process: from sensor to data management. Ángel Retamar reminded them that more than 85% of the company’s workforce has been incorporated through internship training programs.
After the exhibition, an interesting debate between speakers and students was open, since they wanted to know more about daily work in a company like ENVIRA. A practical example was also shown with a Nanoenvi IAQ, ENVIRA’s IoT device for measuring indoor air quality. They observed in real-time the data of the monitored parameters.
