On 15 November ENVIRA IoT will take part in the 2nd Open Call (2OC) of SymbIoTe (symbiosis of smart objects across IoT environments) with a project that aims to find interoperability between the different IoT platforms by unifying various types of communication, in order to achieve a simple and secure way of communication between different networks.
ENVIRA has been one of the companies selected to present a solution that monitors indoor air quality. The project proposes the integration of ENVIRA’s Nanoenvi® IAQ sensors within the SymbIoTe platform, thus creating an infrastructure open to the public. This framework enables the discovery and sharing of resources for rapid cross-platform application development.
Via a gateway, several nodes are connected through a local network for the measurement of parameters such as:
- CO2.
- Dust.
- Humidity.
- Temperature.
- Pressure.
- Light.
- Environmental noise.
This Gateway serves at the same time as an access point for internet services. The devices developed by ENVIRA for the project uses Wifi as a communication channel.
The main goal of this project, co-financed by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program, is to devise an interoperability framework across existing and future IoT platforms and to demonstrate the openness, usability and extensibility of the SymbIoTe platform with the participation of application developers who are not necessarily involved in the design and implementation of the central platform.
With 51 proposals submitted from IoT companies based in several countries across Europe, we are honored to be invited to contribute to the SymbIoTe project and expand our knowledge to new areas.
The workshop of the 2nd Open Call of SymbIoTe will take place on November 15 at the ATOS offices in Madrid.
